Program Description
The Applied Computer Science program at our institution aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values essential in the rapidly evolving field of computer systems and software technology. Our focus is on a balanced approach, combining classical knowledge with practical skills to enhance the adaptability of our graduates to market demands. The program is conducted entirely in English and ends with a thesis.
This program is also available online to students for distance learning.
Key objectives:
- To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Informatics and Computer Science, enabling them to pursue self-improvement and stay abreast of advancements in the field.
- To develop strong language proficiency and professional competency in computer technology to meet the requirements of the information society.
- To prepare graduates for roles involving the design, creation, maintenance, and operation of computer systems, specialized software, and their application in various industries.
Theoretical Training:
The program offers a strong theoretical foundation in Informatics and Computer Science. Essential subjects include Higher Mathematics, Applied and Discrete Mathematics, Computer Organization and Architectures, Operating Systems, Programming, Programming Environments, and Economics. Furthermore, students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge in social-humanitarian areas such as Law, Management, Marketing, Intellectual Property, and foreign language training.
Specialized Training:
Graduates of Applied Computer Science will possess extensive knowledge in areas like Computer Organization, Computer Architectures, Logic Schemes Analysis and Synthesis, Algorithms, Programming Languages, Databases, High-performance Computing Systems, Object-oriented Programming, Computer Networks, and more. The curriculum also covers cutting-edge topics, including Supercomputing Applications, Virtual Reality, Image Processing, Robotics, and Bioinformatics. To cater to individual interests and mobility, elective modules in Software Engineering and Information Technology are available, ensuring students are equipped to meet the dynamic demands of the software market.
